Mumbai: Moinul Haque secured All India Rank (AIR) 2 while Afraz Siddiqui and Saajidul Haque are among the 100 toppers of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 the result of which was declared by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on Friday.
The GATE 2018 was held on February 3, February 4 and February 10, February 11, 2018. GATE is conducted in 23 disciplines of engineering and science subjects and identifies the candidate’s understanding of a subject and aptitude and eligibility for higher studies. GATE 2018 scores are used for admission to MTech/PhD programmes in IITs, IISc and various other institutes.
According to the GATE 2018 All India Rank List (AIR) released by IIT Guwahati, Moinul Haque (Instrumentation Engineering) secured All India Rank 02. On the other hand, Afraz Siddiqui (Electrical Engineering) secured All India Rank 36 whereas Saajidul Haque (Electrical Engineering) secured AIR 52.
The All India Rank (AIR) 1 is shared by Ankit Goyal (Electrical Engineering), Jyotiranjan Barik (Agricultural Engineering), Namita Kalra (Computer Science Engineering), Ocima Kamboj (Production & Industrial Engineering), Naman Jaswani (Instrumentation Engineering), Prashant Varshney, Prashant Gupta (Chemistry).
Moinul Haque shared the AIR 2 with Harsh Nagar. The All India Rank (AIR) 3 is shared by Divyanshu Jha, Anjali Patel and Asheesh Sachan.
The GATE 2018 result was declared at appsgate.iitg.ac.in. All successful candidates now have to appear for the counseling process. The counseling process will be started in the month of April 2018. Besides admission to MTech/PhD programmes in IITs, IISc and various other institutes, GATE score is also used as a criterion for recruitment in government organisations such as cabinet secretariat, and national and state public sector undertakings in India.
