Nowhera Shaikh's Son Detained

Hyderabad: The Central Crime Station (CCS) Hyderabad detained Nowhera Shaikh's son Abu Bakar from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in connection with a number of cases against her mother for allegedly duping hundreds of investors in India and abroad.

Nowhera Shaikh, Managing Director of Heera Gold and Founder President of All India Mahila Empowerment Party (AIMEP), was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai police after she was granted bail by Nampally Court in Hyderabad on October 24, 2018. She is currently in Mumbai Police Custody till November 08.

Hyderabad police had earlier revealed that Nowhera Shaikh is heading about 15 companies under different names. Many of the the companies are involved in collection of deposits/investments in different modes of gold scheme from public wherein these companies commited a return of around 36% per annum for the invested amount.

Abu Bakar, a resident of Hyderabad, is a shareholder in one of Heera Group's companies. The Central Crime Station (CCS) Hyderabad detained him believing that, he would have information regarding the financial activities of the company, local media reported.

"Abu Bakar was let off after questioning", said the police.

The Maharashtra police had earlier raided Bhiwandi office of Heera Gold and seized documents and records.

Heera Gold is believed to have offices in major cities of India and abroad. According to unofficial claims, she has more tha 02 lakh investors who have deposited huge amounts in her various companies.
