Under the Package for promotion of Micro and Small Enterprises announced in February 2007, 22.5% of all the Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) and Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes (ESDPs) are being organised exclusively for the disadvantaged sections of the society i.e. SC/ST, women and physically challenged.  In addition to the free training being provided in these exclusive programmes, a stipend of Rs.500/- per month is being provided to every trainee.  The Ministry of MSME has also taken a decision to impart free training to all SC/ST aspirants in all the training courses organised by its agencies.

  

The number of persons benefited by these training programmes, State and Union Territory-wise  can be seen at Annexure-I.         

 

The total fund allocated and utilised under these programmes during each of the last three years, State and Union Territory-wise is at Annexure-II.
