Saudi Arabia will not allow use of its territory for attack on Iran

Tuesday, June 15, 2010 03:47:14 PM, UNI

New Delhi: Saudi Arabia today rubbished reports that it would allow its territory to be used by Israel to launch an attack on Iran and reiterated its opposition to any violation of its sovereignty.

A senior official of the Saudi embassy here said the Kingdom was firm in its opposition to and rejection of violation of its sovereignty and use of air space or territory to attack any country.

The official was commenting on reports in British media that Saudi Arabia would allow Israel to launch an attack on Iran through its (Saudi) territory.

Describing the reports as based on ''slander and false accusation,'' the official said it was more appropriate that Saudi Arabia should apply this policy to the authority of the Israeli occupation with which it had no relationship anyway.
