"Assessment of the answer sheets have been completed and the results of the 2015 UPSC Preliminary Exam may be declared in next few days, most likely on October 13", sources at the UPSC said.

Last year, the results of the UPSC Prelim exams were announced on October 14, 2014.

Once declared, the results will be available online on www.upsc.gov.in.

The preliminary examination, held on August 23, 2015, had two papers of 200 marks each. The candidates clearing the prelim exams will be allowed to appear for the Civil Services (Mains) written exams followed by personal interviews.

According to the UPSC notification, the Commission will draw a list of candidates to be qualified for the Civil Services Mains exam based on the criterion of minimum qualifying marks of 33% in General Studies Paper - II of Civil Services Preliminary exams and total qualifying marks of General Studies Paper - I of Civil Services Preliminary exams as may be determined by the Commission.

Visually impaired students are given 20 minutes extra per hour for both papers.

The civil service examination is taken by students to get into the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Services and Indian Police Service.
