Chief Minister Virbdhadra Singh, who is leading the Congress campaign in Himachal Pradesh, on Friday in a series of tweets slammed the Modi government's hypocrisy on fighting corruption, targeting the BJP over its silence over the sudden rise in the revenues of Jay Amit Shah's company.

"Ypur party’s main achievement is ‘ease of doing corruption’. @AmitShah & son’s miracle of 16,000 times lucre hike happens only in BJP rule", Virbhadra Singh said.

Virbhadra Singh's comment was in reference to the reports that the business fortunes of Jay Amit Shah suddenly increased after Modi became Prime Minister.

Directly addressing BJP Chief Ministerial candidate Dhumal Kumar Singh, he said, "Your remarks on BJP’s supposed fight against corruption made me laugh. Last time I saw, your own sons were out on bail."

"BJP’s fear of real Vikas, as being witnessed in Himachal Pradesh today, is the reason why personal attacks on me is your main agenda", he said.

"Let’s not forget the time when your party chose a joyous day of wedding of my daughter, Himachal’s daughter, to carry out a CBI raid", he tweeted.

The 68-member Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections will be held on November 9 and the result will be declared on December 18.

The ruling Congress and BJP are in fierce battle to win the polls in the Hill state.
