Riyadh: Saudi Arabia Tuesday February 06, 2024 categorically said there will not be any relation with Israel until the Zionists free Palestine, end their occupation and stop their carnage against the Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank and other occupied territories.

In a communication to the United States, Saudi Arabia said it has no interest in establishing diplomatic ties with Israel until there is a substantial progress on the Palestinian issue.

Moreover, the Kingdom has called for an immediate end to Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, withdrawal of all Israeli occupation forces from the besieged enclave and widespread efforts to increase urgent humanitarian aid into Gaza as a prerequisite for any future diplomatic engagement with Israel.

In the statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it said that the Kingdom's position on the Palestinian issue is steadfast, affirming the necessity for the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights.

Saudi Arabia has stuck to its demand of an Independent and Free Palestinian State within the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital since long. This has been repeatedly told to the world before and also after the Oct 7 escalation.

The latest statement by the Saudi Foreign Ministry was issued after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is on a week-long visit in the Middle East, visited the Kingdom and met its rulers.

Antony Blinken confirms Saudi stand

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh Tuesday, also confirmed the Saudi stand on the State of Palestine.

“During the meeting, the Crown Prince made it very clear and said what he said to me before. That in order for the normalisation (with Israel) two things are required. One, an end of the conflict in Gaza and two, a clear, credible and time-bound roadmap to establish an Independent Palestinian State”, Blinken told reporters.

Saudi Arabia has also reaffirmed its appeal to the international community, especially the permanent member states of the Security Council that have not yet recognized the Palestinian state, to promptly do so, according to the local English daily Saudi Gazette.

The Kingdom advocates the swift recognition of the Palestinian state within the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, aiming to empower the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights and to ensure a comprehensive and just peace for all.
