Mumbai: The two career festival organised by the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) was inaugurated Saturday by Union Minister of State Tariq Anwar at Saboo Siddik Engineering College ground in the presence of a galaxy of community leaders, who's who of the city, parents and a large number of students.
Tariq Anwar while inaugurating the two-day annual event which is in its sixth year urged the students to plan their careers with confidence.
"There is no need of despair and fear. There are ample opportunities and chances waiting for you. Move ahead and plan your career with full confidence", he urged the students amid applause.
He also congratulated the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) for organising such an important event saying it should be replicated in the entire country.
Earlier, president of the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) Aamir Edresy deliberated on the need for organising the career festival.
An estimated 8000 students from over 50 schools attended the career festival on the first day. Each one of them was given the 'Education Kit' sponsored by Baba Siddiqui.
Besides career guidance, the AMP had also arranged special guidance stalls for employment opportunities in government and important private sectors.
Besides Amin Patel (MLA), Baba Siddiqui (MLA) and president of Anjuman-e-Islam Dr Zahir Qazi, Chairman of Minority Commission Munaf Hakeem, Additional Police Commissioner Naval Bajaj and President Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee Janardhan Chadolkar were also present for the inaugural session.
