A senior economics teacher of the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) in Saudi Arabia has died, media reports said Saturday.

B. Kasper Raju, who was diagnosed with cancer a few months, passed away Thursday night.

He leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter.

Raju hailed from Guntakal in Andhra Pradesh and had joined IISJ in 1991.

"Raju was a dedicated teacher and produced excellent results in his subject," Arab News quoted a colleague as saying.

According to another report, in the last examinations held by India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Raju guided his students through the social networking site Facebook from his hospital bed.
