Mumbai: Ahmed Zubair Masoud, nephew of Afghanistan's Northern Alliance leader Ahmed Shah Masoud, has passed out from Pune's National Defence Academy (NDA), the results of which were declared Friday.
Ahmed Zubair is the son of Ahmed Zia Masoud, former vice-president of Afghanistan and leader of the National Front of Afghanistan.
He passed out from the Academy with three others from his country.
Five cadets from Tajikistan and one from Bhutan have also passed out along with some 290 others in the 124th course of the military leadership institution.
Ahmed Zubair Masoud was inspired by his uncle who fought first against the Russian Army and later the Taliban.
The results were declared in a glittering passing out parade at the National Defence Academy (NDA) on Friday. The parade, which saw the participation of 1,090 cadets on the parade ground, was reviewed by Admiral DK Joshi, Chief of Naval Staff.
