Tuesday May 14, 2013 7:43 AM, WAM

Over 3,500 media representatives, analysts, writers and journalists are expected to attend the 12th edition of the Arab Media Forum that will begin here Tuesday.

The two-day event, that will end May 15, is being organised by the Dubai Press Club, under the patronage of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The forum will tackle issues concerning the Arab region and discuss media phenomena that have resulted from the politically-charged environment. It will also discuss the controversial role played by the media.

A special ceremony Wednesday will announce the winners of the Arab Journalism Award, out of 4,000 participants competing in 12 categories.
