
Mumbai: The United States and Israel are primarily responsible for the turmoil in the Arab world, where thousands of innocent persons are being killed, leading Islamic scholar Salman Nadvi said on Saturday.
              
              Salman Nadvi, a professor at the renowned Darul Uloom Nadwat ul-Ulama in Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh said that the United Nations needed to look into the issue in greater detail.
              
              He was addressing a seminar at the Anjuman-I-Islam complex on the ongoing conflict and civil war in the Islamic world and its overall aftereffects in view of the emerging national scenario of our country. The seminar was organised by International Nadwa Alumni Association.
              
              "What is happening in the Arab world is a result of United States and Israel," he said, adding that the UN and other human rights organisations had been rendered ineffective in countering the problem.
              
              Referring to the Muzaffarnagar riots, he said that the Hindus and Muslims need to come together in electing a government that would work for all and eradicate corruption from the country.
              
              Dr Shakeel Samdani, senior professor of law in Aligarh Muslim University said that country needed secularism hence Hindu-Muslim both should fight against the communal forces. 
              
              "It is essential that we ward off communal and fundamentalist forces from the country," he said.
              
              Mufti Abul Rehman Milli, Convener, All India Milli Council said that the evil designs of United States and Israel needed to be exposed.
              
              Mohd Luqman Nadvi, President of Maharshtra unit of the INA said that Indian government should also make efforts to ensure that the problems in the Arab world subside.
              
            Abu Huzefa Azmi, noted Islamic scholar said that US and Israel were the root cause of all troubles across the globe.
