Non Resident Indians for Secular & Harmonious India (NRI-SAHI), a forum of overseas Indians, Saturday condemned the RSS and its affiliate organisations for their 'Ghar Wapsi' campaign and also deplored the government for being silent on the sensitive issue.

Stating that NRI SAHI believe in the Indian Constitution and freedom to choose one's religion, the overseas Indians in a statement said,"NRI SAHI condemns forced reconversion and 'Ghar Wapsi' programs of RSS and its affiliates, and also deplores central government's inaction."

"WE condemn fake and forced conversions and recent attempts to organize mass conversion of 25,000 Christians and Muslims in Aligar", the NRI SAHI said in the statement.

The NRI SAHI also condemned leaflets circulated in Aligarh and other areas by the Hindutva groups characterizing Christians and Muslims along side Maoists as anti nationalists.
