Tuesday December 15, 2015 10:08 PM, News Network

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) on Monday rescheduled the dates for Common Entrance Test (KCET 2016), citing the clash of earlier dates with the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT).

According to the new scheduled published on the official website, the examination will now be held on May 4 and May 5, 2016. The examination date has been rescheduled as the previous dates i.e May 1 and May 2 were clashing with All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) to be held on May 1, an official statement said.

"As many students from Karnataka are also appearing for the AIPMT 2016 entrance examination, it may cause inconvenience to a large number of students.

"To facilitate the state students, to take both the examinations, the government has approved the proposal submitted by KEA to conduct CET-2016 on May 04 and May 05, 2016," the circular released by KEA said.

"The Kannada examination for Horanadu and Gadinadu students will be held on May 06, 2016", the circular added.

Karnataka CET (KCET) is conducted every year for admissions to various undergraduate (UG) professional programmes at government and private institutes in the state of Karnataka.

CET provides admissions to Medical, Dental, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Naturapathy and Yoga, Engineering, B.Sc Agriculture, Sericulture, Forestry, Horticulture, B-Pharma and D-Pharma courses and is applicable only to the students of Karnataka.
