Thursday January 1, 2015 3:19 PM, IANS

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said Thursday that 33 percent of posts in the Delhi Police will soon be reserved for women.

"The government is working on the idea of reserving 33 percent of jobs in Delhi Police for women. We will make sure this happens in next three to four years," Rajnath Singh said on the sidelines of a launch of the "Himmat" mobile-based application for the safety of women.

He said that all other states and the union territories will also be advised to increase the quota for women in their police forces.

"Efforts are also on to reserve four to five percent of jobs in the paramilitary forces for women. Other states and union territories will also be urged to increase the reservation for woman in their police forces," Rajnath Singh said.
