Lucknow: In a fresh bid to flare-up communal tension, Hindu Mahasabha - a right wing organisation involved in assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, has started a 'Quit India' campaign against Asaduddin Owaisi, Abdullah Bukhari and Azam Khan.
According to Hindu Mahasbha, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Chief and Hyderabad MP Owaisi, Jama Masjid Shahi Imam Bukhari, and UP Minister and Samajwadi Party senior leader Azam Khan are 'traitors', and hence they should be 'kicked out' of India.
"The Muslims who are not 'loyal' to the country should be kicked out of the country. We have started a campaign in this regard on April 30", Kamlesh Tewari, Hindu Mahasabha caretaker president, said.
He said the Mahasabha has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Singh Yadav urging him to remove Azam Khan from the state cabinet.
He said Owaisi, Bukhari and Azam Khan are responsible for creating 'anti-Hindu' sentiments in the country.
He said the partition of the country was based on religion, and only Hindus have right to live in India.
Interestingly, Hindu Mahasabha is using the slogan 'Quit India' for its anti-Muslim campaign, which was used during India's freedom struggle. Historians are of the view that the Hindu Mahaasbha leaders were miles away from the historic struggle.
In an other provocative statement, Yetendranath of Bajnaur Juna Akhada, while talking in a program said Owaisi should be shot at in broad daylight.
