Sultanpur: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi while addressing a rally in Sultanpur accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) of degrading the condition of Muslims in Uttar Pradesh.
Owaisi held the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress equally responsible for deteriorating conditions of Muslims in the state, and held the three parties responsible for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) coming to power in New Delhi
''SP, BSP and Congress used them by creating terror of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which resulted in formation of government of BJP in Centre,'' he said.
Addressing a gathering in Islamganj Bazar here, Owaisi said, "In UP, chacha-bhatija (uncle-nephew) fight is going on. No political party is thinking of development of Muslims in UP."
"Centre provided Rs 3.5 lakh crores for development of the minority community but UP government has not fixed any budget for the purpose", he added.
Blaming the SP government in Uttar Pradesh for the death of Md Akhlaq, Owaisi said that if Dalits were targeted in Gujarat, Muslims were victims of atrocities in Haryana.
Targeting SP legislator from Isauli, Mohammad Abrar, he said that Abrar got vote to win the elections by appealing to community emotions but did nothing to improve their lot.
Owaisi also alleged that SP government was scared of him and did not allow permission for his rallies in many districts.
Owaisi's tirade against SP, BSP and Congress is significant as the three parties have accused Owaisi of having a secret deal with the BJP.
Owaisi, who leads Hyderabad based AIMIM, has announced to field party candidates in the upcoming election in Uttar Pradesh.
Owaisi's decision to contest the UP state election has worried the SP, BSP and Congress.
Two days back UP Congress Chief Raj Babbar had abused Owaisi. SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav also slammed Owaisi calling hin 'Ehsan framoosh'.
Political observers say the huge turnout that Owaisi's public meetings are receiving has sent shock waves in the power corridors of Uttar Pradesh.
