New Delhi: The Engineering Services Examination 2016 will be held on May 27. Aspiring candidates can apply online on or before March 25, 2016, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) said in an official notification dated February 27.
The examination is held to fill the vacancies under different categories of engineering services and posts, the UPSC said in the notification. The listed caetgories are: Civil Engineering, Mecahnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 602 including 32 PH vacancies.
The UPSC said the candidates appearing for the Engineering Services Examination 2016 should only apply online before March 25, 2016.
"The online link for the application on the official website of UPSC will be disabled after March 25", the UPSC said.
"The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions", it said.
"Mere issue of e‐Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. Commission take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test", it added.
"The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for download by candidates.
"No Admission Certificate will be sent by post. All the applicants are requested to provide valid & active e-mail address while filling up online application form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them", the UPSC said.
