Bengaluru: The School Education Department, Government of Karnataka through its official website has started receiving online application for Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2016 from October 14 onwards. Interested candidates are advised to apply online before November 9, 2016.
According to the schedule published on the Department of Public Instruction, Government of Karnataka, website the Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2016 will be held on December 18 whereas the Admit Cards for the same will be available for download from November 28 onwards.
Interested candidates wishing to apply online for Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2016 can login to "schooleducation.kar.nic.in" and follow the instruction given as under to register.
- Go to the official website, "schooleducation.kar.nic.in"
- Click on to 'Registrations/Login' and then on 'Registration'
- Fill in the necessary details such as full name, mobile number, email id, user name and password
- After submitting the details, the next step is 'Generate Challan'
- Make payment of fee through download challan for payment in the designated account of Stae Bank of Mysore
- Upload Scanned images of photograph and signature
- Take a printout of confirmation page
Please note that once entered, candidate's particulars can be edited till the payment of fees. Once the payment of fee has been made, candidate particulars cannot be edited.
Paper Pattern:
Paper 1:
The exam will comprise 150 multiple choice questions based on Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2,
Mathematics and Environment. It will carry a total of 150 marks.
Paper 2:
The exam will consist of 150 multiple choice questions based on the following:
Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions
Language 1: 30 questions
Language 2: 30 questions
For Mathematics and Science: 60 questions
Social Science 60 questions
Schedule of examination:
Paper 1: The exam will be held from 9:30 am to 12 pm.
Paper 2: It would be conducted from 2 pm to 4:30 pm.
KARTET scores:
The scores of KARTET shall be applicable to schools of the Karnataka Government. Schools owned and managed by the State government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET.
Validity period of KARTET certificate:
The validity period of KARTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven year from the date of declaration of results for all categories.
Eligibility criteria:
- Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage ( Paper - I ):
- PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Education (Special Education) B.A /B.Sc graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education
- Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI- VIII: Elementary Stage (Paper - II)
- B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education B.A /B.Sc graduation with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
- PUC /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four- year B.A /B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed /B.Sc.Ed
- B.A / B.Sc graduation with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in one-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
- Minimum qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I - VIII: Elementary Stage ( Paper - I and II
- PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
