At AMP Convention, delegates urged to avail schemes regardless who is in power

Mumbai: Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) organised a national convention Saturday at Alma Latifi Hall, Saboo Siddik Engineering College in Mumbai on completion of its 10 years.

More than 250 delegates coming from India and abroad to attend the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) National convention were urged by speakers to make use of various government schemes regardless who is in power.

“We must be open to criticism, especially self-criticism, which is most important for individual growth", Manappat Group’s CMD, Ameer Ahamed Manappat, who flew from the Middle East to address the young audience, said.

"A community should not get bogged down by who is in the Government but should try and focus to avail of the various schemes introduced for its benefit and upliftment.

"My Mission 2040 is to work for the upliftment and progress of the under privileged masses in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam and West Bengal via Misal Foundation", Ameer Ahamed Manappat added.

Renowned Thinker and Policy Maker, Sam Pitroda addressed the participants via video call from Chicago.

Razak Shaikh, Head Employment Cell of AMP took everybody through the Journey of AMP in the last five years.

He spoke about how AMP came a long way from its first Job Fair organised in P. T. Mane Garden at Nagpada, Mumbai to organising career events with Police Departments of Thane and Aurangabad cities.

He also discussed the role and success of the Skill Development Lectures (SDL Project).

AMP President Aamir Edresy while addressing the convention said, “AMP began through Social and Digital media and today has reached not just the metros but smaller towns thanks to the power of social media”.

He emphasised that AMP’s model is based on partnership and collaborations with like-minded organisations and the corporate community.

In the evening a talk on Inclusive India – Prosperous India was conducted by Sayeed Khan at the Musafir Khana that was attended by renowned dignitaries including President Anjuman Islam, Mumbai Dr. Zahir Kazi and Mehmood Madni of Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind.

The AMP 10th Covention will continue on Sunday December 24 where Role of Professionals in Nation Building, Economic Development Plans and Community Collaborations will be discussed at length.
