Mumbai: Xiaomi on Monday made another addition to its low-cost, entry-level smartphone range with the launch of its fearure rich, low cost Redmi 4A with 4G LTE support.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A smartphone will be available exclusively on Amazon.in and Mi.com. The e-tailer has also confirmed the Xiaomi Redmi 4A launch by releasing a teaser of the same. It will start retailing from March 23 with an amzingly low launch price of Rs 5,999/-
The new Xiaomi smartphone supports Reliance Jio's 4G VoLTE network, and comes in three colour options - Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold. Other key Redmi 4A features are IR blaster and 3120mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A in Dark Grey and Gold colour options will be available on Amazon India and Mi.com starting 12pm IST, on Thursday March 23 whereas Rose Gold Redmi 4A will be available from April 6 onwards only on Mi.com.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A will not be sold offline.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes in a polycarbonate body and bears a hybrid Dual-SIM card slot. It runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with the Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A rear camera has a 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF, a 5-lens system, an f/2.2 aperture, and is backed by a LED flash. The front camera bears a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Redmi 4A comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).
Xiaomi Redmi 4A connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, and Bluetooth v4.1. Sensors on board the smartphone include accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, infrared, and proximity.
Dimensions of the new Xiaomi smartphone are 139.5x70.4x8.5mm, and it weighs in at 131.5 grams. Redmi 4A is powered by a 3120mAh battery with fast charging support.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A was launched in China in November. Other smartphones in the Redmi 4 lineup include the Redmi 4 Prime and Redmi 4X. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime too ere launched in November.
