Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala state recorded an overall pass percentage of 95.98 while more than 1174 schools affiliated to the Kerala education board have scored cent per cent results, according to the DHSE Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan Board Kerala SSLC Class X and THSLC Private Examination results announced today.
The 2016-17 SSLC examination results were announced by Education Minister Prof. C Ravindranath.
Of the total 1174 schools which grabbed the 100% results are 405 government schools. This is an improvement from last year when 397 government schools secured 100% pass. Chalapuram government higher secondary school became the school with the maximum number of students who sat for the exams, and that secured 100% pass.
Kaduthuruthi became the education district with the highest pass percentage and Wayanad became the one with the lowest, according to a quick analysis of Kerala SSLC 2017 results.
In vocational higher secondary, the pass percentage was 98.83. In all, 20,967 students have got A+ in all subjects (which is 4.6 per cent of the total students), while 1174 schools have grabbed cent per cent pass percentage of which 405 are government schools. Last year this figure was 377 only.
This was the first examination after the board changed the syllabus significantly. Pathananthitta district was on top with 98.2 per cent pass percentage, while Wayanad performed wort with 89.65.

The Kerala Government has also launched a mobile app named 'Saphalam 2017' for students to access their SSLC results with ease.
The Saphalam App is available on the Google Play store and candidates can download it from there to check their scores by following the instructions. SSLC results can be accessed by all high schools and higher secondary schools as high-speed internet facility is available there. A total number of 9000 schools were provided internet facility this year as a part of the IT@School Project.
Earlier, hundreds of thousands of students who appeared for the Kerala SSLC Class X exams held in 2017 woke up to a confusing Thursday morning as different newspapers claimed and published two different dates of result declaration.
Some newspapers and portals, including IndiaResults - the associate website of state boards to display the results of various exams, reported that the Kerala SSLC Class X and THSLC Private Examination would be declared on Thursday May 03, 2017.
In contrast to this, many other media reports claimed that the results of Kerala SSLC Class X and THSLC Private Examination would be declared on Friday May 04, 2017.
One thing all the media reports were sure about was the time of result declaration. Confusion got over late on Thursday when it became clear that the Kerala SSLC results would be declared on Friday May 5 at 02:00 pm.
It should be noted that the online Kerala SSLC result 2017 could vary from the original score, in such a case the Kerala SSLC Result 2017 in the original marks sheet will be considered final.
Students can choose to apply for re- evaluation and re-checking of examination papers, if they feel that they have not been awarded marks as expected and as per the answers they had written in the examination.
The General Education Department Govt of Kerala had declared the SSLC 2016 results on April 27. Accordingly it was expected that the Kerala SSLC Class X Results 2017 would also be declared in April last week.
The overall pass percentage in 2016 was 96.59%. Best performing district in 2016 was Pathanamthitta. It scored a pass percentage of 99.04%. Wayanad with a pass percentage of 92.3% was Worst performing district in the 2016 Kerala SSLC Class X exams.
Under normal circumstances, the Kerala SSLC Result evaluation process takes about 60 days from the date of conclusion of Senior Secondary Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Exam. For, the Kerala Class X 2017 exams were between 8 - 23 March, 2017.
In 2016, a total of 4,73,803 students had appeared for the Kerala SSLC exams. Out of them 4, 57,654 students had cracked the exams, registering an impressive 96.59% overall pass percent.
The Pareeksha Bhawan conducts the SSLC examination in the state of Kerala. This year 4,55,906 regular students and 2,588 private students appeared for the SSLC exam that was conducted in March at 2,933 centres in the state and 9 centres in Lakshadweep and the Middle-East region.
Apart from the SSLC examination, Pareeksha Bhawan also conducts other examinations, for certification of qualified teaching faculty through KTET and other similar examinations.
Earlier reports had claimed that the results of Kerala SSLC Class X exams held in 2017 would not be declared before April 30 as expected. Instead, they will be declared in the first week of May. This year, the results were delayed after the mathematics question paper was leaked and the exam was rescheduled. At least 11 questions of the model exam were repeated in the final triggering a controversy.
The embarrassed government later cancelled the exam conducted on March 20 and rescheduled it for March 30. It later announced a vigilance inquiry into the paper leak.
