Ouagadougou: President of Burkina Faso Roch Marc Kabore and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen presented the OIC Prize for Women’s Achievements to three prominent winners, a Palestinian woman, a Turkish association, and a Burkinabe organization.
They were awarded the prize in recognition of their outstanding contributions in the field of women empowerment in the OIC member states.
The award ceremony was held on the sidelines of the 7th Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in the Development of OIC Member States in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on Saturday.
The winners – Burkina Faso Association (RAMA), the Turkish Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) and Hiba Al Hindi a Palestinian influencer – are the first recipients of the OIC Prize for Women’s Achievement, to be presented every two years.
The awards are in recognition of the contributions of women and institutions in the development of the member states or have a significant impact on the empowerment of women in the member countries or in Muslim communities in non-member states.
