New Delhi: More than 30 people were killed and over a dozen others injured on Sunday in a major blaze in Delhi's Rani Jhansi Road market, the national capital's Fire Service Department said.
So far, more than 50 people have been rescued and shifted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital and Lady Harding Hospital.
Most of the people who died were labourers who were sleeping at the factory in Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi Road when the fire broke out at 5 am.
The Fire Department said that 25 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The fire is suspected to have started at the workshop of the bag manufacturing factory.
The death toll is said to increase.
