A Holy Quran verse is viral after Dr Abdul El-Sayed won the Michigan Democratic Primary for US Senate in a close contest Wednesday August 05, 2026.
Dr Abdul El-Sayed will face former Republican Congressman Mike Rogers in November Mid-Term Elections.
The race is considered one of a handful of competitive Senate contests in the November elections, and could determine which party controls the chamber for the rest of President Donald Trump’s term.
If elected to the US Senate, Egyptian-American, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed will become the first Muslim elected in the Upper House of the US Congress.
After El-Sayed’s victory, a verse from the Holy Quran has gone viral. The viral Quran Verse is Ayah 32 of Syrah Al Maidah where Allah says:
Dr Abdul El-Sayed had quoted this Ayah in his application while seeking Rhodes Scholarship - the world's oldest and most prestigious international postgraduate award, back in 2008. El-Sayed quoted this Ayah from the Holy Quran to explain why he was pursuing degrees in Research as well as a Medical Degree.
“My religion teaches that if one saves a life, she has saved all of humanity. I remember reading this verse with my father as a boy: ‘How great,’ I thought, ‘would it be then to save a life every day?’ Quick to share my thoughts with Baba, I told him that I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. My father, a professor, thought for a moment, and reasoned, ‘Abdulrahman, wouldn’t it be better to learn why people die, and then teach everyone around you to save lives? Wouldn’t that save more lives?’ His reasoning stuck; but so did mine”, he said as quoted by the Office of the Vice President for Communications, The Regents of the University of Michigan.
His application was accepted and he completed D.Phil from Oriel College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. The above Quran verse has gone viral after Dr Abdul El-Sayed won the Michigan Democratic Primary election held for U.S. Senate.

Among others, the pro-Israeli Zionist lobbies are also upset over Dr Abdul El-Sayed's victory in Michigan Senata Primary Elections.
According to reports, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) had led the way in the effort to defeat El-Sayed, backing his opponent, US Congresswoman Haley Stevens, with more than $30 million.
Unfazed by the Zionist campaign against him, El-Sayed on the campaign trail termed, like millions around the world, Israel’s atrocities in Gaza as a Genocide.
Justifying his stand, he argued that money spent on conflicts that benefit Israel should be invested in local communities in the US to address healthcare, housing and infrastructure problems.
"We won. I am so proud to be your Democratic nominee for US Senate. Let's win in November", a jubiliant El-Sayed wrote on his X account following his victory.
His post also highlighted his poll promise.
"Money out of politics... Money in your pocket.... Medicare for All", he wrote.
Abdul El-Sayed was born on October 31, 1984, in the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills, Michigan, to Egyptian immigrant parents. He graduated from Bloomfield Hills Andover High School, where he was a team captain for wrestling, football, and lacrosse, in 2003.
El-Sayed later attended the University of Michigan, where he majored in Biology and Political Science. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Highest Distinction in 2007 with a bachelor's degree. His commencement speech was widely praised, including by former US President Bill Clinton.
"I don’t want to embarrass your senior speaker, but I wish every person in the world who believes that we are fated to have a clash of civilizations, and cannot reach across the religious divides, could have heard you speak today", Clinton, who was present at the ceremony, had said.
Later, benefiting from a full-tuition Rhodes Scholarship, El-Sayed completed two years of Medical School from the University of Michigan Medical School and considered becoming a Neurosurgeon. He later completed D.Phil from Oriel College, Oxford.
