Modi to follow path of truth to fight injustice

Monday, August 16, 2010 03:31:40 PM, Agencies

Ahmedabad: Gujarat has decided to follow the path of truth to fight all forms of injustice, neglect and against those who try to defame the state, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has said on his blog.

"Truth always triumphs - 'Satyameva Jayate' is our age-old mantra. 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram' is our cultural heritage. Indeed truth is ingrained in our culture," Modi posted on his blog on Independence Day.

"Gujarat too has decided to follow the path of truth as its weapon to fight all forms of injustice, neglect and against those who try to defame us," he said.

Modi gave examples of Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Dayanandji Saraswati and social reformist Karsandas Mulji, who followed the path of truth against all odds.

He also thanked the people of Gujarat and the country who second time voted him as 'Best Chief Minister' in an opinion poll conducted across India.

"To all those countrymen who have given their best opinion I am truly indebted to them. They remained unperturbed even when a certain section launched an incessant slander and malicious campaign and false allegations against me," Modi said on his blog.

Yesterday, during his Independence Day address in Rajkot, Modi had lashed out at Union government alleging it had failed to curb terrorism and Naxalism and lacked the will to do it.
