Fellowships for RTI activists in India

New Delhi: The
personnel and training department will give five short-term
fellowships to professionals from journalism, civil society, and
research and training in the field of Right to Information (RTI),
an official said here Friday.
"The fellowships are for conducting field based research on issues
relating to the RTI and will be under a plan scheme titled
‘Improving Transparency and Accountability in Government through
effective implementation of the Right to Information Act'," the
official said.
The primary goal of the scheme is to contribute towards more
accountable and transparent government.
"The fellowships would be granted for researching any theme
relating to RTI with the objective of contributing towards its
better understanding, restrictions in its implementation and how
it could be strengthened," the official said.
