Country of Immigrants, United States is a WORLD in itself

Chennai: The US Consulate here will soon start ''Know US'' clubs in schools and colleges across south India in a bid to highlight the Indo-US relationship.

These clubs will organise debates, dramas and other activities with the involvement of teachers and students.

The first such club would be inaugurated here on July 27 at a private school, where the consulate would organise a day-long event called ''Experience America'' to showcase educational prospects in that country, a consulate press release said.

The event, would showcase the educational resources, including the American library and the US-India Education Foundation (USIEF).

The programme would also have advising sessions on higher education in the US, student visas and screenings of American documentaries. Drawing, poster, quiz and elocution competitions for school and university students will also be organised.
