Pradesh Forest Department to get e-Governance Award

The Forest Finance Management System Software prepared by the
Madhya Pradesh Forest Department has been selected for the C.S.I.
Nihilent e-Governance Award 2009-2010.
According to an official Press release the Computer Society of
India, (C.S.I.), Coordinator Piyush Gupta informed the department
about the award by e-mail.
The MP forest department, in cooperation
with the N. I. C. had developed the software on forest finance
management system. G O S and G P S system was used while developing
the software.
For giving the award in C. S. I. Nihilent e-Governance
Award’s Project G 2 G division, the selection committee after
receiving the nominations, toured the concerned areas and after
seeing the presentation, the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department was
selected.
The winners will be given the awards at the annual
conference of Computer Society of India to be held at Taj Lands
and Hotel in Mumbai on November 26.
Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Sartaj Singh has congratulated the
department officers for selection of this award. The State Chief
Secretary Avni Vaish and Additional Chief Secretary Forests M. K.
Rai have also expressed pleasure and congratulated the Forest
Department for the award. They appreciated the new activities by
the forest department in the field of science and technology
during the last three years.
The forest department has used new
technique of science and technology in the field of forest and
wildlife management and became first in the country in this
regard.
