Pre-nursery student hurt after slap by teacher

Thursday, October 07, 2010 07:38:56 PM, IANS

Ranchi: A three-year-old student sustained injuries near the right eye after he was slapped by a teacher in a Ranchi school, the student's mother said Thursday.

The student was undergoing treatment at the Kashyap Eye Memorial Hospital here.

Abhishek Singh, pre-nursery student of the Sunrise School, was slapped by teacher Maya Wednesday as he could not recall a poem.

"The teacher hit me when I failed to recite a poem," Abhishek said.

"Abhishek has suffered injuries on the outer part of the right eye," medical director of the hospital Bharti Kashyap told IANS.

His mother alleged that neither the school management nor the teacher had accepted the fault.
