Malegaon:
Shooters Heena Sidhu and Annu Raj Singh have brought proud moments
for the country by winning 31st gold in the Commonwealth Games -
the highest India has earned in the Games' history. For the
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) fraternity - because of the fact
that the golden girl Annu Raj Singh is an AMU alumnus - the moment
has become more delightful.
Expressing pleasure over her
historic achievement, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-chancellor today announced to
felicitate the golden girl at AMU campus.
"The entire AMU fraternity is
delighted at the particular achievement made by Ms. Annu Raj
Singh, an alumnus of this University by winning the 31st Gold for
India in women’s pair 10m air pistol event in Common Wealth Games,
Delhi 2010", AMU VC Prof PK Abdul Azis said while addressing the
meeting of chairmen of departments of studies.
The AMU VC also announced that the
University is planning to felicitate her at an early date.
Annu Raj Singh, who along with
shooter Heena Sidhu won the gold in 10-m air pistol pairs, had
done her graduation in Political Science in 2006 from Women’s
College, AMU. Her father, Dr. S. P. Singh has earlier served as a
consultant at the J. N. Medical College, AMU, Aligarh.
