Bhopal:
Stage is set for the two-day Global Investors Summit to be held at
the World Heritage destination Khajuraho in the central Indian
state of Madhya Pradesh from tomorrow.
With the addition of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, (UAE),
industrialists from 20 countries would now be participating in the
Global Investors Summit.
Earlier, there were delegates from
15 countries which were expected to come for the Summit. The
entrants apart from Saudi Arabia and UAE are: United States of
America, Canada, Korea, South Africa, Singapore, Botswana,
Germany, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia,
New Zealand, United Kingdom, Finland, Austria, Italy and hosts
India.
Over 400 industrialists and representatives from 180 Industrial
Groups from abroad and India would be participating in the Summit
which would be inaugurated by the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
After the inauguration there would be sectoral presentation of
different subjects. As many as 14 MoUs worth Rs. 95182 million
(21.48 billion USD) are proposed to be signed on Friday. On the
next day (October 23), MoUs are proposed to be signed for 43
industries and 13 investments projects in energy sector. Total
investment of more than Rs. 1120 billion (25.27 billion USD) is
expected in these investments.

County Magistrate of Changhua County Government, Taiwan, Cho
Po-Yuan, Deputy High Commissioner of British High Commission,
Mumbai, Peter Beckingham and Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre,
Delhi Ambassador Wenchyi Ong will be present at the Summit as
guest of honor.
It may be recalled here that Global Investors Summit is being
organized at Khajuraho for the second time after Jan. 15-16, 2007.
In the previous summit, MoUs worth Indian Rs. 390,000 million
($8.76 billion) were signed. It is expected that this time MoUs
worth more than other summits will be signed. Significantly, at
the Indore Global Investors’ Summit, MoUs worth Indian Rs. 12,000
billion ($26.95 billion) were signed.
