Malegaon: About three million Muslims coming from all across the world attended Khatm Al-Qur’an - end of the Qur’an recitation, prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah on Tuesday as the imams who led the prayers urged them to stand united.

The Grand Mosque in Makkah overflowed with worshippers who also came to perform Umrah, attend Taraweeh and Qiyamullail prayers. Thousands were standing in the courtyards around the mosque as well as streets leading to it to attend the prayer.

Every year, during Ramadan Muslims everywhere in the world perform special prayers in the Ramadan nights called as Traveeh prayers. The special prayer is observed in congregation in every mosque in the world. Men, women and children after ending the day's fast converge in nearby mosque to offer the prayer which is followed by the Isha prayers.

Huffaz - the people who have memorised the entire quran, recite from the Holy Quran chapter by chapter and verse by verse as the worshippers stand in prayers.

However, offering the Traveeh prayers in the two Holy mosques have their own charm - as well as importance vis-à-vis their rewards. Millions of people from all across the world specially come to these two places to perform Umrah and offer the Traveeh prayers behind the Imams of the two sacred mosques.

Those who could not make it to these places, remain glued to their television sets every night for the live broadcasts of the Traveeh prayers from the two holy mosques.
