Guwahati:
The BJP today charged the ruling Congress in Assam with entering
into a "secret understanding" with the minority-dominated All India
United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in a bid to form the government
after the assembly polls.
Releasing BJP's "44 point charge sheet" against the Congress, BJP
general secretary and state's election in-charge Vijay Goel claimed
that according to a "reliable source", there was a meeting between
AIUDF president Badaruddin Ajmal and senior Congress leaders Salman
Khursheed and Saifuddin Soz in New Delhi recently where Ajmal was
promised deputy chief ministership.
"This amounts to selling out Assam to the Bangladeshi infiltrators
for the sake of power and has revealed the true colours of the
Congress," Goel said.
"Badaruddin is only a spokesperson of the Bangladeshi infiltrators
and their interest which is posing a grave threat to the people of
the state," he claimed.
