Sharjah Business Women Council signs MoU with Oxfam

Sharjah: Sharjah
Business Women Council (SBWC) Thursday signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with Oxfam GB, a member of an international
confederation of 15 organisations working together in 98
countries.
The programme, known as "Intilaqah" Productive Woman Programme,
aims to empower Emarati women working from homes.
The MoU was signed by Ameera Abdelrahim Binkaram, Sharjah Business
Women Council chairperson and Dame Barbara Stocking, chief
executive of Oxfam GB, at a reception held at Sharjah's Al Seef
Palace .
Speaking on this occasion, Binkaram said, "Women's economic
empowerment is an issue that is very important to the Sharjah
Business Women Council. It is both for the community and our
responsibility to enhance the productive women's' livelihood by
helping them achieve economic independence while maintaining their
self esteem and dignity".
