Bhopal:
The Delhi-based Zakat Foundation of India, (ZFI), is organizing a
National Workshop for “Economic Empowerment of the Deprived
through timely information and its utilization” here on Tuesday
(March 8th) at Noor-us-Sabah Palace Hotel from 9.30 a.m.
The workshop would be conducted by experts and successful
activists under the watchful eyes of ZFI president Dr. Syed Zafar
Mahmood. In the workshop the participants would be apprised of
Welfare schemes for minorities and how to monitor their
implementation making use of the Right to Information Act, (RTI).
The timings of the workshop is from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch
break in between.
This is the 11th in the series of the workshops held all over
India. The workshops were successfully completed, earlier at
Delhi, Bahraich,
Lucknow & Rampur (all three UP), Patna (Bihar), Ranchi (Jharkhand),
Mumbai (Maharashtra), Kolkata (West Bengal), Malappuram & Calicut
(both Kerala). Now, after Bhopal it would to be held in Srinagar
(J & K) on March 20.
It may be mentioned here that Zakat Foundation of India was
established in 1997 as a grassroots level organization by
concerned residents of New Delhi. It is a
Non-Governmental/Non-Profit Organization which collects and
utilizes ‘zakat’ or charity for socially beneficial projects in a
transparent and organized manner.
