Tuesday March 15, 2011 05:06:16 PM, ummid.com & Agencies

Mumbai: The Haj Committee of India March 14 declared to begin receiving applications for the Haj 2011 from March 16. It also decided to remove the ban it had imposed in 2009 on carrying children for Haj.

"We are beginning to receive applications for the Haj 2011 from March 16 2011", CEO Hajj Committee Shakir Husain announced here yesterday.

"Those who are interested can obtain the application forms from the respective district Haj Committee offices free of cost and also from the Haj Committee website http://www.hajcommittee.com", he added.

He also declared that a processing fees of Rs. 200 per application should be included along with the application forms.

CEO Haj Committee Shakir Husain also announced to remove the ban on carrying children for Haj from this year. The Haj Committee in the year 2009 had imposed a ban following the Swine Flu.

He has also advised those who do not have international passports not to apply until they get the same.

An estimated 1,50,000 Hajis go for Haj every year from India but more than this figure submit their applications. Haj Committee of India after it receives Haj applications hold a draw to prepare the final list.

In an important decision taken few weeks back, the Haj Committee of India had declared those who were applying for the last three years and did not find their names in the list, would be included in this year's list without draw.
