Lucknow: The Bijnor
district administration in Uttar Pradesh Wednesday ordered the
police to take action against a private boarding school for
"illegally detaining" two brothers for several days over
non-payment of tuition fees.
The move comes after an enquiry against Roots International School
(RIS) in Noorpur over a complaint by Savita Sharma, who had
alleged that her two children were illegally detained by the
school administration for 10 days in the boarding for not
depositing the tuition fee.
The children were studying in Class 1 and 5.
Bijnor Additional District Magistrate S.B. Tiwari told IANS that
the children were returned to their mother four days back.
"Our enquiry has found that the school authorities were at fault.
I have directed the police today (Wednesday) to lodge a first
information report (FIR) against the school," he added.
