MANUU announces a flurry of new courses

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANU) the only university offering courses at higher level through Urdu medium, has started three new courses at PG Level & Two new research programmes.


"The three new courses introduced this year are Master in Computer Application (MCA), M.Sc. (Maths) & M.Com and the newly launched research program are M.Phil & Ph.D. in Persian & Business management", said university official Prof Abdul Wasey.


"Three new certificate courses namely “Amoozish Urdu, Proficiency in Persian & Unani Pharmacy are are being introduced from the new academic year", he added.


"Admission process for regular courses commence with the sale of applications from 9th May 2011", he said.


The regular courses at the university include M.A. (Urdu, Persian, Arabic, English, Hindi, Public Administration, Women’s Studies, Translation Studies, Mass Communication & Journalism), Master of Social Work, MBA, MCA, M.Com., M.Sc. (Mathematics), M. Ed., B. Ed, D. Ed, M.Phil (Urdu, Arabic, Persian, English, Hindi, Public Administration, Women Education, Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy and Business Management) and Ph.D. (Urdu, Persian, Hindi, English, Women Studies, Public Administration, Education, Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy Studies, Business Management), Polytechnic Programmes (Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering, Information Technology), ITI’s (Draughtsman – Civil, Electronics Mechanic, Electrician, Refregeration and Air-Conditioning and Plumbing), P.G. Diploma (Information Technology, Functional Urdu), Diploma Programmes (Arabic, Arabic Translation, Tahseen Ghazal, Persian) and Certificate Courses (Khush Khati, Tahseen-e-Ghazal, Proficiency in Persian, Unani Pharmacy).


"From this year the university is starting new courses in MCA, M.Com., M.Sc. (Mathematics), M.Phil. & Ph.D. in Business Management & Persian, Ph.D. in Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy studies. Proficiency in Persian, Amoozish Urdu & Unani Pharmacy are started from this year", he said.


"Tahseen-e-Ghazal or Appreciation of Ghazal certificate course is a very unique course, conceived & designed specially keeping in view the popularity of Urdu poetry among non-Urdu folks. This oral programme is being run successfully. M. Phil. In Arabic was introduced last year", he said.


"Admissions in M.Ed., B.Ed., D.Ed, MCJ, MCA, M.Com,, MBA, MA Translation Studies, all M.Phil, Ph.D. and Polytechnic courses will be on the basis of entrance examinations and in all other courses admissions will be on merit basis. Filled in application forms except for Ph.D. shall be submitted on or before 30th May, 2011 at University Headquarters, Hyderabad. Last date for Ph.D. Programme is 4th July 2011", he said.

The prospectus and application forms are available at the University Campus, Hyderabad, Sub Regional Centre Hyderabad, all Regional & Sub Regional Centres and College of Teachers Education, Lucknow Campus & Polytechnic Colleges on payment of Rs. 100/- (by hand) or Rs. 150/- (by post) payable through demand draft drawn in favour of “Maulana Azad National Urdu University” payable at Hyderabad through any nationalized bank.

Reservation for SC/ST & OBC candidates will be as per the GOI norms and rules as amended from time to time. Hostel facility would be provided subject to availability.

The University provides fellowship of Rs. 5,000/- & Rs. 3,000/- per month to the students of Ph. D. and M. Phil. respectively as per UGC Norms.


Scholarship of Rs. 1000 P.M. is provided to the students of Master Degree programmes subject to availability of funds.
