Be a unique personality: Abdul Kalam

New Delhi: Calling knowledge the source of power, former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Wednesday asked the youth to aspire to become "unique personalities" to make India a better nation.

"Every youth wants to be a unique person, but the world around is doing its best to make you just like everybody else. You have to fight the hardest any human being has to fight," Kalam told a function to mark 'Technology Day' in the national capital.

The former president said this would be the key to change India's future.
"Yesterday, the key to power was natural resource, today it is knowledge," he said.

He also urged the youth to identify with causes like making the country corruption free, creating greener environment and helping others.

Kalam also gave away National Awards on Technology for developing indigenous technology.
