Aligarh: Moving a step further in the direction of restoring powers of the AMU Vice Chancellor, President of India, in her capacity as the Visitor of the University, has allowed the AMU Vice Chancellor to appoint Guest Faculties and Temporary Teachers in the University.

In a letter addressed to the Aligarh Muslim University Registrar, the MHRD Undersecretary, Juglal Singh conveyed the order of the Visitor that the University may appoint Guest Faculties and Temporary Teachers by following the due procedure and process.

A large section of teachers has welcomed the decision and hoped that the remaining unwarranted curbs imposed on the University will also be removed to help the University to function as per its normal norms, Acts and statutes.
