Lucknow:
The Uttar Pradesh government Thursday ordered round-the-clock
power supply to the constituencies represented by Chief Minister
Akhilesh Yadav, his father and Samajwadi Party (SP) president
Mulayam Singh Yadav and cabinet minister Azam Khan.
According to well placed sources, the Uttar Pradesh Power
Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has been directed to ensure that
Kannauj, Mainpuri and Rampur get 24x7 power supply.
Kannauj sent Akhilesh to parliament thrice and Mulayam Singh
represents Mainpuri in the Lok Sabha. Azam Khan, the parliamentary
affairs minister, has been elected as a legislator from Rampur.
Etawah, the native place of Mulayam Singh, has also been exempted
from power cuts.
During Mayawati's tenure, these districts barely used to get eight
to 10 hours of power.
