Lucknow: Stating that she would be filing a protest petition against the CBI's closure report, Parveen Azad, wife of slain Kunda DSP Ziaul Haque, on Wednesday saught from the CBI court a copy of the agency's closure report and other documents related to her husband's murder case.
On August 1, the CBI had filed a closure report in the DSP's murder case, giving clean chit to former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and his aides, citing "want of evidence".
In reply to Azad's petition, the court ordered to provide her the copies of the documents and fixed August 23 as the next date of hearing.
CBI advocate J Ansari said that on the court's direction, while some documents have been provided to Parveen, others will be given to her at the time of the next hearing.
The final report was filed against the FIR lodged on Parveen's complaint, naming Raja Bhaiya and his aides as the accused. The agency had already filed the chargesheet against 14 people in the same case on another FIR lodged on the complaint of the then station officer of Hathigawan police station.
DSP Haque was killed on March 2 in Balipur village of Pratapgarh district when he had gone to investigate into the murder of village pradhan Nanhe Yadav. Pradhan's brother Suresh Yadav was also killed the same night.
