Asaduddin Owaisi dares Narendra Modi for a public debate
Monday August 19, 2013 10:56 PM, ummid.com & Agencies

Mocking Gujarat chief minister and BJP poll campaign head Narendra Modi for challenging Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, President of All India Majlis-e-Itehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi invited him for an open debate on his 'tall claims'.

"You (Modi) are challenging an old man for a debate. What are you challenging the Prime Minister for? I challenge you for an open debate. Come and debate with me on your policies and tall claims", Owaisi said while addressing a huge rally organised ahead of the 5th death anniversary of former party president Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi.

He also criticized Congress for providing Narendra Modi political space for a rise.

"Congressi should have questioned Modi on his tall claims about Gujarat in his Hyderabad public meeting. But the Congress leaders are mum and silent", he said.

Lambasting the Congress for stopping him and other AIMIM leaders from holding public meetings while allowing Modi to roam around freely, Owaisi said, "Malegaon collector wrote a letter to me not allowing my entry on the eve of Shab-e-Barat stating I am threat to peace, as if it was me who planted bombs in Malegaon?

As if it was us who fired at innocents in Dhule? During Ramzan they won't allow us, come 15th August they won't allow us. While Modi is free to roam across India. Are we not citizens of this country?"

He said police is stopping him from entering neighboring districts but time will come when his party will have party office and cadres in Gujarat.

“We will be in Malegaon very soon, we will go to Nandurbar from there and our next destination will be Gujarat", he said.
