Aligarh: Mohammad Muqeet Khan, UGC BSR Fellow, Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded with "Fritz Thyssen Stiftung Award" in the international and interdisciplinary conference on 'Rurality: New Perspectives and Themes', held at Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg, Germany.
Khan is the only Indian researcher who has participated in the mega academic event attended by distinguished scientists and researchers from almost all parts of the world.
The conference committee has decided to publish his research paper under the banner of an international publisher of repute.
Khan presented his paper entitled 'Spatial Analysis of Consumer's Changing Attitude and Demand towards Space Preferences and Purchase Decision Making: A Case Study from Rural India', co-authored by Dr Nizamuddin Khan.
The deliberation in the conference focused on evolving a strategy to understand the changing spatial behavior, demand and consumption of rural masses, especially the consumers. Thereby plans can be made to improve and educate the rural masses regarding their consumption and usage habits that will eventually improve their quality of life.
Khan is presently working on his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Dr. Nizamuddin Khan. He is the recipient of 'UGC Basic Scientific Research Fellowship' and 'Best Paper Award', ACSSSR 2011, Penang, Malaysia.
He has also been awarded 'International Graduate Scholar Grant' for 9th International Conference on Sustainability 2013, Hiroshima, Japan.
