New Delhi: Indian junior cyclists made a brilliant start to their Track Asia Cycling Championship in Thailand, winning one gold and three silvers.
Andaman and Nicobar teenager Deborah bagged the gold in Time Trial while Manorama Devi won two silvers in Scratch and Point. Haryana's Dilawar Singh added the third silver in Point race.
The performance of the Indian contingent has attracted the Korean Cycling Federation who have invited both Deobrah and Manorama Devi to train with their national squad.
"Indian cycling has been on the rise and these results are very encouraging for all of us. These players have put in a lot of hard work in the last few months and I am extremely happy that they could translate those efforts into medal," said Cycling Federation of India secretary Onkar Singh.
