New Delhi: The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawerat, an umberlla body of Muslim NGOs and the Welfare Party of India (WPI) Tuesday declared support to the Aam Aadmdi Part (AAP) in Delhi and urged the people of the national capital to vote for the Arvind Kejriwal-led party for a stable government.
"The Bhartia Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have both failed the expectations of the people. It is hence we have decided to support the AAP in Delhi" A Rasheed Agwan, President of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawerat's Delhi unit chief, said in a statement.
He said the Modi government has miserably failed in bringing back black money, eliminating corruption, providing basic amenities to common people and providing security to women.
"It is hence useless to vote for BJP which has failed in all sorts", he said.
He also said that the Congress has failed in learning any lesson from its past mistakes and there is no chance the party will win enough seat to form a government in Delhi.
"Voting to AAP is necessary for a stable and secular government in Delhi", he said.
Likewise, Welfare Party of India WPI) has also decided to support Aam Admi Party in the coming Delhi assembly election.
Party National President Dr. S. Q. R. Ilyas in a statement said the Welfare Party of India (WPI) hopes that Kejriwal-led Aam Admi Party will provide a stable, people-friendly and corruption-free government in Delhi.
"Modi-led BJP government at the centre during the last seven months has been enacting anti-people policies. With little concern for the poor, it has brought in many ordinances to appease corporates and multinationals.
"The Central government has even put lives of the nation's citizens at risk by signing the diluted version of the nuclear liability bill.
"Soon after Modi government assumed power the country has been witnessing communal strife across many states. Places of worships including churches have come under attack in the national capital also.
"From many of the senior leaders, ministers and MPs of the BJP, religious and communal splintering utterances occur from time to time", Ilyas said in the statement.
Stating that the Congress doesn't seem to be in a position to take on the BJP in Delhi election, he said, "It is the duty of all sincere and patriotic citizens of all faiths of Delhi to come forward to check the anti-people policies, corporate-friendly acts and communal splintering approach by supporting the Aam Admi Party (AAP) by defeating the BJP."
The Delhi elections are on Feb 7 and results would be out on Feb 10.
