Kolkata: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) results are likely to be declared today i.e. Friday June 5 by around 03:00 pm on the official website.
Once declared, the results will be available on the offcial site: http://wbjeeb.nic.in.
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) is mandatory for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology/Architecture.
The WBJEE board was established in 1962 with an objective to conduct a common entrance exam to make the process of admission more convenient.
The WBJEE entrance exam was held on May 5 and May 6. It was scheduled to be held on April 18 and April 19, but was postponed due to Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections.
More than 1.5 lakh students appeared for the exam this year.
The paper was divided into two sections. The first section consisted of multiple-choice questions which constituted of 80 percent of the marks while the second section consisted the really short-answer questions which made up for 20 percent of the total marks.
The WBJEE pattern was changed in 2013 wherein the syllabus was tweaked and two hours were allotted to Mathematics and one and half hour each to Physics and Chemistry. The change was majorly made to leave out the more descriptive topics and to give more importance to the analytical ones.
According to the Board's website, admission to MBBS Course in Medical Colleges and BDS Course in Dental Colleges will be done through e-counselling after publication of merit list of WBJEE-2015.
Seat allotment will be based on the rank position in the merit list of the Joint Entrance Examination having regard to preferences for medical or dental Colleges.
Information regarding admission to the concerned universities and colleges for Engineering, Tech, Pharma and Architecture courses and allotment of seats will be made available in due course.
There will be no provision for scrutiny or review of the WBJEE 2015 Result post publication, it is officially informed.
