New Delhi: A delegation of Muslim citizens called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and appreciated his Saudi Arabia visit and development agenda, an official statement said.
The members of the delegation included Shia cleric Kalbe Jawwad, expert on International Islamic Affairs Kamar Agha, and journalist Shahid Siddiqui among others.
The members of the delegation congratulated the prime minister on his recent successful visit to Saudi Arabia, and said the people in West Asia, Central Asia and North Africa, especially the youth, are extremely impressed with the development agenda of the prime minister.
The delegation also praised the prime minister's development agenda and his successful implementation record, the statement said.
Modi thanked the delegation, and reiterated his commitment to development, laying special stress on education, and especially on education of girl child.
The prime minister expressed hope that the Muslim community in India will be able to derive huge benefit from the welfare schemes initiated by the National Democratic Alliance government, such as the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and Mudra Yojana.
