Makkah: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health intensified preparation works to handle cases of heat exhaustion and sunstrokes among Hajj pilgrims.
The ministry installed 208 ventilation fans that spray cold water in several facilities in Makkah, Madinah and holy sites as this method proved its effectivness to reduce temperature impacts.
The ministry also has increased the number of beds for people who suffered a sunstroke by 79 this year, bringing the total number of allocated beds to treat sunstroke patients to 216 beds in the holy sites.
Around 3.5 million Muslims from around the world to perform Hajj - the annual ritual to commomerate Prophet Ibrahim and his noble son Prophet Ismael in the month of Dhul Hijjah. The month of Dhul Hijjah tis year conincides with the month of September.
